Not all ants behave the same — and not all treatments work on every species. These are the ant types we most commonly treat in homes, businesses, and yards throughout Modesto and surrounding towns.

Argentine Ants
Small, dark brown ants that form massive colonies. Common in kitchens, bathrooms, and patios. Multiply quickly and are tough to control without professional treatment.
Odorous House Ants
Give off a musty, rotten coconut smell when crushed. Often found trailing indoors near food or water sources like sinks and pet bowls.
Pavement Ants
Nest under sidewalks and driveways. Often seen trailing indoors from patios or slab foundations, especially in search of food.
Carpenter Ants
Large black ants that tunnel through damp or damaged wood. A structural risk if nests are left untreated.
Thief Ants
Very small yellowish ants that sneak into kitchens for greasy or protein-rich foods. Difficult to eliminate with store-bought sprays.
Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA)
Known for painful stings and dome-shaped mounds in lawns. While not widespread, fire ants have been found in parts of Stanislaus County and are actively spreading.
